Butter Valley

The Butter Valley route will be our shortest loop, just 18 miles. At mile two you will have a climb that is about a mile long, it is paved, so this is great for people less sure about their climbing and descending skills on the gravel. Once on top of the ridge, you can expect scenic views, and rolling twisty roads. At about mile eight, you will have a mellow descent for approximately two miles, then you head up another one-mile climb. Once again, some rollers on top of the ridge before your final paved descent as you sprint (or not) for the finish line! Time to tell stories of your accomplishments and enjoy the company! The 18-mile route will be marked with directional arrows, to ensure you stay on course. Due to the short distance, there will not be a rest stop on this route.

General Rules

Nobody likes them, but they are a necessity for the survival of any ride. This ride is ON OPEN ROADS, which means you must OBEY TRAFFIC LAWS. Please keep in mind some farmers and residents work and live on these roads. Yield to cars and farm equipment, and please stop at all stop signs, you will be crossing some highways. The less we inconvenience residents, the more likely they are to welcome us into their community. It is simple, be courteous, wave, and smile, you are on a bike ride!

Be prepared for anything, this is not a supported ride. There will be rest stops with food and water on the route (the 18-mile route does not have a rest stop). There will not be any mechanical support on the road, you are responsible for arranging a ride if you have issues. Having some sort of tire plug, inner tube, and Co2 is a really good idea. It is a good idea to bring some warm clothes, as the weather can change quickly (maybe a rain jacket lol).

Leave no trace. Please put your trash in your pocket and place it in the proper receptacle at a rest stop or the finish. Please do not litter. Also, there will be restrooms at most rest stops. Please do not use the bathroom on the course, especially not on private property.

All riders must wear a helmet.

Ride your bike, have fun, and be kind to others. The perfect formula.
